October 24 at 2PM – Pet Survivors & How Houston PetSet is Aiding Their Human Survivors

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and in an effort to provide education to the public, the Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council is hosting a series of discussions on the topic. On Saturday, October 24 at 2PM, Tama Lundquist will speak with Carvana Cloud, Founder and Executive Director The Empowered Survivor Project, for their “Pet Survivors & How Houston PetSet is Aiding Their Humans” webinar.

October 28 at 6PM – Conversations For The Animals With Dr. Stephen Klineberg

Dr. Stephen Klineberg is the Founding Director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research and is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Rice University.

His recent Kinder Houston Area Survey found that 64 percent of the survey participants said they are in favor of spending more tax money to reduce the number of strays in Houston neighborhoods. In addition, fully one-fourth (25 percent) said that stray dogs or cats were a somewhat serious or very serious problem in their neighborhood.
