Bob, a heartworm positive chihuahua mix, and his two buddies, Bowdy and Buster, were abandoned in Pearland, and luckily were cared for by a Good Samaritan. All three pups transported to our friends at The Babinski Foundation two weeks ago, and Bowdy and Buster were adopted shortly after.

Unfortunately, Bob found himself waiting on a forever home, but in the meantime, he won the heart of an employee at the shelter. She said, “Long story short, I didn’t have the heart to leave him there anymore so I took him home with me yesterday and decided to foster him and hopefully adopt him at the end of his treatments! I just fell in love with when I saw him, and seeing him happy at home makes my heart smile.”

Bob’s heartworm treatments make him tired, but he loves to snuggle under blankets, and he also has two other foster siblings who are learning to share the couch with him.

This story is a beautiful example of why our transport program means so much to us. Without our partners and adopters in the Midwest and our dedicated fosters here in Houston, we could not do our work #ForTheAnimals. Thank you all for making second chances like Bob’s possible.
