A minimum of $2,000,000 is available for grants made under this program. Learn more.

Financial Relief for Nonprofits

The Chronicle of Philanthropy announced today that the COVID-19 stimulus bill expected to clear Congress on Friday will include relief for nonprofits. The National Council on Nonprofits indicates that all taxpayers (ie. your donors) can deduct up to $300 in cash giving on their 2020 tax returns (previously only those who itemized their taxes were able to make charitable deductions).

Also, nonprofits who employ 500 people or fewer will be eligible to apply for a loan to cover certain costs, such as payroll, health insurance costs, and facilities costs. Organizations who keep their employees working during this time may have the loan transitioned into a grant, so that the money does not have to be paid back. Please read this article for more details and consult your organization’s financial manager.
